BPAA Tennis tournament 2016

Five pairs lined up for this year’s BPAA Tennis tournament held at David Lloyd in Westbury-On-Trym, revved up following recent British success on the international scene in the past few months. There were a few notable absences from participants from previous years – perhaps a changing of the guard with the average age of pairs showing a more youthful presence and ageing bodies possibly taking their toll.

The tournament took the form of a round robin programme, with each pair playing out a set against one another before the top two teams battled it out over a final set! The reigning champions continued their form from last year’s event and made short work of most opponents in the round robin stage, and whilst an upset may have been on the cards in the final, they pulled through once again winning 6-4.

So, James Marsh and Dan St Quintin of Cushman & Wakefield and Beach Baker respectively hang on to the trophy for yet another year, which was presented by Steffani Asquith of sponsor Carbon Law Partners.
